Hi! My name is Greg Cuellar.
I'm a seasoned design leader with almost 20 years of design experience. I started my career at major tech companies, but have found my passion at startups ranging from seed round to pre-IPO.
My technical background and expertise in design thinking has helped me carve out a niche in operationally-complex and heavily-regulated businesses. From car ownership to homeownership and from fintech to health tech, I love making complex things simple and making people's lives better.
I was most recently at Divvy Homes, where I led our incredible design team. I’m especially proud of our team’s effort to build a new property management suite that doubled the efficiency of our teams managing Divvy’s portfolio of homes.
Before that, I led the consumer product design team at Affirm through the company’s IPO. This was an exciting time that also saw the development and launch of the Affirm Card.
I’ve joined small companies as their first designer and have loved supporting other designers in their careers, as well. For more detail, please see my profile on LinkedIn or download my resume.
Education
I received my bachelor’s degree in computer science from Stanford University with a minor in psychology. I also received a master’s degree from Stanford’s communication department, studying human-computer interaction.
During my master’s program, I performed research in the Stanford Behavior Design Lab under the direction of Dr. BJ Fogg. My research was on how mobile phones can influence people’s behavior — well before the launch of the iPhone!
